Why I created Aratravelers

I grew up on the road, exploring remote landscapes across the Americas with my father, a photographer and conservation leader. Those early years taught me that travel is not just about places — it’s about perspective, connection, and the feeling of being truly alive in the world.

I remember waking up to the sight of roaring glaciers, watching animals roam freely in their natural habitats, and learning early on that we are part of a larger cycle of life — one we are meant to protect, not disrupt. Those experiences shaped my deep respect for nature, beauty, and intentional travel.

I chose to study hospitality for the freedom it offered — the ability to work anywhere in the world while remaining, at heart, a nomad. My career took me across Europe and China, working with some of the world’s most prestigious luxury hospitality brands, including Four Seasons, The Ritz-Carlton, Kempinski, and The Langham, before naturally gravitating toward the intimacy, character, and magic of boutique hotels.

After years in both luxury and boutique hospitality, I came to understand how powerful a well-designed journey can be. The right hotel, the right route, and the right experiences have the ability to transform not only how you see a destination, but how you experience yourself within it.

Aratravelers is my way of bringing together both worlds: the wild and the refined, the adventurous and the beautifully curated.

It is for travelers who want to move through the world with intention, curiosity, and freedom — whether traveling solo, with a partner, or with a dog by their side.
